Sean Donahue T-shirt Design Winner

Our 37th Regatta
was a big turn-out on Sept 11-13, 2009.
Total registration numbers,
41
Paid registered boats and persons attended 115+. Beach space was precious,
and the most I counted at one time was 37 on the beach and in the channel at
one time. Once again we appreciate all your volunteerism to help keep this
event the stand-out it is, thanks to all of you. We started on Friday night at
The Eagles Club for registration and to distribute goody bags and t-shirts.
Saturday morning we were in the channel at the Kings Condos on the beach. We
had our annual horseshoe
tournament, and an excellent Pot Luck with Mitch Parker's (28' Sangria)
usual Carne Asada feast. There was a 50-50 tickets raffle for sale and and poker/21
hands available for our Poker Run. In the afternoon it was around the lake for
the Poker Run and then back to start decorating our "Margaritaville" boats.
We had a good group of decorators this year. Our floating party boats hit
the channel, with a few unappreciative Lake Havasu police asking some our
boats to undecorate the front deck!!, but we made our parade and we tied up under the
bridge to drink a margarita or two, interrupt a wedding up at Barley
Brothers and and appreciate everyone's decorations. The next
stop was back to the Eagles club for some delicious Prime Rib or Chicken
Cordon Bleu and our awards
ceremony. The weather was a little breezy Sunday morning, but some
Campbellites made their way up to Moabi to end the week-end. We did have an
an incidident that put a damper on the week-end, Marty and Rhinda Raymond's
beautiful 24 "Dirt Martini" was involved in a marina fire Saturday night
that to all our dismay ended in a total loss of one of our classics. The
boat next to the Raymond's was determined to be the source, and fortunately
for the club, Marty and Rhinda are on the hunt for a new Dirty Martini. Once again thanks to all of you who attended to make this such
a great event and we expect to see more of you next year!
